Friday 12/11:
- Read chapter 5 (pages 95-113) "Human Histology".
- Classwork: Chapter Assessments page 114 & 115 #1-19.
Tuesday 12/8:
- Google classroom assignment "Human Histology"
- Create slides for the following tissues:
- simple squamous epithelium
- simple columnar epithelium
- simple cuboidal epithelium
- skeletal muscle
- cardiac muscle
- smooth muscle
- dense regular connective tissue
- compact bone
- bone marrow
- hyaline cartilage
- elastic cartilage
- fibro cartilage
- simple squamous epithelium
- For each tissue include the following information:
- 2 pictures of tissue under different powers of magnification.
- Primary locations (where it is found in the body. Usually 2 or 3 per tissue).
- 2 pictures of tissue under different powers of magnification.
- Total functions (connect the function to the location you choose. For example, if you say squamous epithelium lines blood vessels, then it’s function is to reduce friction. If you locate it in the air sacs of the lungs, then it’s function is diffusion or gas exchange.
Wednesday 12/9:
- Introduction to histology lab.
- Students will observe human tissues using a microscope and fill out a tissue.identification form for each assigned tissue.
- Create a google slide for each tissue as described on the Google Classroom assignment.
Thursday 12/10:
- Squamous epithelium Lab
- tissue identification form
- Google Slide
Friday 12/11:
- Columnar epithelium Lab
- tissue identification form
- Google Slide
